X2 (2003)

Quick Summary: When anti-mutant Colonel William Stryker kidnaps Professor X and attacks his school, the X-Men must ally with their archenemy Magneto to stop him.
Almost as loveable as the first one!
There are no slow points during this, it's always either action or fascinating dialogue-driven scenes. It masterfully bounces between the two. A lot of the action scenes have pretty good visual effects too, they are a little bit dated, but still good otherwise. With the dialogue, it is still so witty between characters, with small funny friendly jabs.
The story is pretty well written, minus a couple of flaws that I just saw as a little unbelievable, but it doesn't affect how much I still enjoyed this. Though the character development wasn't really there in this one, the first film crammed as much as it could in, so I guess that balances out.
The acting is still amazing and of course, Hugh Jackman who is still absolutely brilliant as Wolverine steals most of the show. However, I would like to praise my personal favourite introduction, Alan Cummings as Nightcrawler. I loved his design and how much humanity he brought to the group. He was just an incredibly interesting character that I wish got more development.
The action was so much more in this, all the fight scenes with Wolverine were awesome and some of the most entertaining I've seen. Magneto is still an incredible villain, I have no complaints there. I definitely think that this is a big improvement from the first one (though it is also a brilliant film), and a perfect continuation of the X-men series. If you liked the first one, you'll love this one.
9/10
"William Drake: What exactly are you a professor *of*, "Professor Logan?"
Wolverine: Art."
"Policeman: Put the knives down!
Wolverine: I can't."
