The Brave Little Toaster (1987)

Genre: Musical/Adventure

Time: 1h 30mins

Director: Jerry Rees

Quick Summary: A group of dated appliances embark on a journey to the city to find their master after being abandoned in a cabin in the woods.

Honestly, I'll say right now I wasn't too keen on this.

I couldn't stand the art and animation, it was so gross to watch. I wonder if it had much of a budget because it was awful.

The worst part was the soundtrack. The songs were horrible and completely forgettable. I felt like I was expecting more from a Disney film, but these were nowhere near close to the standard.

The story wasn't too bad, it kept me watching to see what happened out of curiosity. It was simple enough, it had a good amount of incidents happening to give the film a bit of a shock factory and keep the interest up. The ending was nice enough as well.

I couldn't stand the characters. I understand they're supposed to represent and be relatable to children, but they were so annoying and irritating. Especially when one just cries, loudly, for the majority of the film. It was so grating after not too long.

It has some good themes like compassion, loyalty and expression of the feeling of fear. But that is heavily watered down for children, which I can't really complain about but it makes it rather dull for adults.

This is honestly pretty underwhelming for an adult to watch, though I feel like children would enjoy this much more. It's an easy watch for them.

3/10
