Even though this is the weakest in the whole series for me, I still like this.

I'll be honest, this didn't really feel like an alien film as it didn't have the same atmosphere the rest has. For a good portion of this film, I was just waiting for something to happen that was actually interesting. Another issue I had is it changed some of the information we had previously learnt about the aliens, which never really made sense.

I was very unsure about Ripley at the start as I think they weren't sure how to write her, and she does a few things that are very out of character. Though she was still pretty strong and still pretty cool.

An interesting thing that was created through this is that we learn the aliens change slightly depending on the host body, which honestly is pretty interesting to me. Otherwise, this is pretty much a rehash of the first aliens, which isn't a full complaint as this isn't entirely awful. The gore factor was greatly increased in this which was nice to see.

Some of the camerawork was pretty good, using some interesting angles to show the Point Of View of the alien on the Ceiling when chasing people as It also managed to keep the claustrophobic feeling of the previous two films.

As for the ending, it was alright. I found the whole cat-and-mouse maze element pretty fun. Until I realised how long it went on for. It really drags out this ending and it becomes pretty tiring to watch the same thing over and over again. A lot of the new characters never really stood out for me, though they did have their funny moments.

This isn't an awful film, unfortunately average.

5/10

Do we have the capacity to make fire? Most humans have enjoyed that privilege since the stone age."

"Ripley: What's this "eighty-five" thing?
David: A couple of us sneaked a look at his personnel file the day he arrived. It's his IQ."
