I'm sad to say I've never had Steve Buscemi come through my closet door.
I thought Billy Crystal and John Goodman were great. I like them anyway, but now whenever I hear them I can't unsee these characters. John Goodman comes across as a warm, fuzzy teddy bear regardless so he was pretty much perfect for Sully. I don't think I can actually say if I preferred one or the other as I really enjoyed both of them. They had brilliant chemistry and no matter the scene they bounced off each other as if they had known each other for years. This plus a brilliantly written script makes a wonderful film experience.
Even if I am a big fan of Steve Buscemi, he was also incredible as the villain in this and gave out the right amount of slimy sneaky guy who would do absolutely anything to get to the top.
Animation-wise, I am a bit judgemental as a lot of the time you could see the age. Sully would not seem right and stick out compared to the background a lot of the time which I found to be very distracting. But the background settings were really filled up and it didn't seem empty which is a bonus.
Story-wise it's pretty simple and keeps to it, which isn't a bad thing as it was still really entertaining. It's easy to follow and fun, and really that's all that matters for kids' films. It teaches a few things like friendships and how they might not always get along, do what you think is right and kidnapping children is fine under the right circumstances.
One scene I do want to mention is the door chase. Incredibly intense and the pacing in it is so well done. It keeps you at the edge of your seat and the animation is actually really good for how frantic and chaotic it is. Watching them go in and out through various doors was very visually pleasing.
This is another Pixar film that really stands out among the rest. I do love the added bonus that this film has been memed to hell. Again, a very fun and easy watch.
8/10

Sulley: Yeah, I got, uh, Smelly Garbage or Old Dumpster"
