Whose bright idea was it to make a Halloween film without Micheal Myers. That theme song will be forever stuck in my brain like a Parasite though. It is so irritating and it plays multiple times throughout. Wonderful how it really captures how truly annoying TV adverts can be.
The protagonists are just so damn boring. I honestly had no care for them. The premise of a corporation committing mass sacrifice of children to bring Halloween back to its pagan roots is super interesting, but it just doesn't play out interesting while watching it. It takes way too long to get into anything and reveal anything. The action was below mediocre & the whole premise was dumb & plot-holed. There's even a whole android reveal subplot which was just really wild to put in this in my opinion.
There was some admittedly pretty cool body horror stuff, such as worms and snakes coming out of someone's head, as well as someone's face literally being blasted with a high-powered laser. Thought they were very occasional throughout this and really can't save this film.
Overall, it's a disappointment and that's not because of Michael, I'd say it is a bit, but I generally think in itself, the film to be poor. Maybe this should have been marketed as a different film this might of done better or fixed some of the plot holes. Skip this if you're binging through the Halloween series, but if you do really want to watch it, don't say I didn't warn you.
