The Final Destination (2009)

Genre: Horror/ Mystery

Time: 1h 22mins

Director: David R. Ellis

Quick Summary: A horrifying premonition saves a young man and his friends from death during a racetrack accident but terrible fates await them nonetheless.

And now we know if you're racist, death is gonna make your death painful.

They did not need to make another after the last film but here we are.

This one just feels like they remade the first film but this time, the main lead gets premonitions before each death in super cryptic ways. The acting is terrible. The story is formulaic. There's nothing really interesting as far as the plot. No discussion of death. No new interesting concepts.

This one is a bit of a stinker I'll admit but What this movie is really about is killing young, attractive individuals in a manner which will complement the 3D. Nothing else. It's just killing people using flying objects, and I'm loving it. Watching films years after the 3D craze is brilliant because it is so cheesy and dumb looking.

The deaths, while stupid-looking are actually really scary and intense. There's a massively broken escalator that is slowly dragging someone in, someone's head gets smashed by a tyre flying at god knows what speed, and explosions.

Aside from that, there's nothing really to this. It's just kinda there. I don't hate it, but I don't love it.

Overall, if you like the 3D gimmick; you're just looking for a film to have a little fun; and you don't really care about plot, characters, or story, you might have some fun.

5/10
