I was just sat in pure amazement during the waterwheel fight.

Do you know what's better than one Pirates Of The Caribbean film? Two.

This one is on the exact same level as the first one for me, but this time the storyline delves deeper into the lore of the pirate world, exploring curses, supernatural beings, and the mysterious Davy Jones. It is still filled with thrilling action sequences, including a chaotic three-way duel on Isla Cruces (my favourite scene) to the spectacular sea battle involving the Flying Dutchman and the Black Pearl.

Everyone is developed a lot more in this one. The character of Captain Jack Sparrow is examined in-depth, revealing further details about his past and motivations. Moreover, the relationships shared between Jack, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann undergo trials in the face of new challenges and betrayals together. I adore Elizabeth in this so much as she just becomes more independent and firey.

I think what I like most about this one is just how chaotic everything/everyone is. It's a wonderful mess of an adventure where things keep happening, or the group seems to find themselves in a situation no matter where they turn. The fun of it is how they get out of it and watch everything unfold. There are a few moments which actually feel really emotional in this too, which I won't spoil, but the betrayal is strong.

There is a mix of practical and CGI effects in this and mostly they're very good! From the cursed crew of the Flying Dutchman to Davy Jones himself it really brings together this mythical world wonderfully. The crew especially being they were full of barnacles and coral. The only thing is, the Kraken at the end, looks bad. You can really tell that was a greenscreen which is a shame because of how good everything else is together.

Speaking of Davy Jones, what a wonderful villain. He's not bad for bad sake, he has his reasonings and boy is it sad. As the story goes on, this character becomes multifaceted. The only thing, which is a personal gripe, is that I didn't like his voice. For a character that looks like he did, the voice didn't match up too well for me. It was just too nasally.

Even though the first one is pretty funny, this one is funnier. There wasn't a moment where a clever joke wasn't crammed in, or Jack doing some bizarre reaction. I was always laughing at something. Be it the actors, or the script, this is hilarious.

I do prefer this one over the first just because it feels like they perfected everything the first one did, It's a shame about the CGI in some cases though. But still, this is an amazing film that I'm sure you can't hate.

9/10

"Elizabeth Swann: There will come a time when you have a chance to do the right thing.

Jack Sparrow: I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by."

"Jack Sparrow: [holds up jar of dirt] Oi! Fishface! Lose something? Eh? Scungilli!

[falls down stairs, holds up jar again]

Jack Sparrow: Got it! Come to negotiate, eh? Have you, you slimy git? Look what I got.

Jack Sparrow: [sing-song] I got a jar of dirt, I got a jar of dirt, and guess what's inside it!"

(p.s this moment was actually Improvised by Johnny)

"Pintel: You know you can't read.

Ragetti: It's the bible, you get credit for tryin'."

"Davey Jones: You have a debt to pay. You've been captain of the Black Pearl for thirteen years. That was our agreement.

Jack Sparrow: Technically, I was only captain for two years, then I was viciously mutinied upon."
