I mean I would be more freaked out than these guys if some woman broke into my house and deep cleaned it but okay.

I'm not really sure how I felt about this, as on one hand it is such a classic film which i'm sure 97% of the population knows or has seen this film, but on the other it's not amazing. Honestly it's really dull which I am sad to say. Really thinking about it I barely remembered what happens let alone what anyone says.

The dwarfs are really what makes this memorable with their various antics and interactions together, which is more slap-stick/ beating on each other for their various quirks, which conveniently they are named after. Doc was my own personal favourite since I heavily related to his constant mixing up of words. They are cute and even loveable, though a bit bare bones, they made this a bit more watchable since they had a slither of personality unlike our main character. O̶h̶ s̶o̶r̶r̶y̶ I̶ f̶o̶r̶g̶o̶t̶ s̶h̶e̶ w̶a̶s̶ a̶ w̶o̶m̶a̶n̶ i̶n̶ t̶h̶e̶ 3̶0̶'s̶.

Animation is stunning, really for when this was made and considering there was no other animated film up to this standard let alone full film feature length. The scenery is beautiful and full of so many little details and rich colours, something that disney has always been brilliant at. Animation wise, though for the time is very good and had held up for many many years, it looks a little off now. It is a bit obvious they were just copying the movements of a real person. It set the bar for animation back then, and is something to look back on.

My biggest complaint is for a film so short, it feels so long. So many of the scenes drag out unecessarly and I found myself getting bored by the 40 minute mark. I did prefer the first half of this as this does a pretty good job of introducing us to our main character, Villain (who was sadly a bit lackluster too, though looked stunning), and side characters all within the first 30 minutes. There's even this really dark terrifying scene where Snow White is running through a forest terrorised by evil looking trees. But after that it's just a waiting game until something remotely interesting happens. I'm glad the dwarves were there to fill in with a few silly shenanigans.

As for the villian, I am also torn. Since since is really terrifying especially for a kid to be watching this during the scene where she makes the poison apple which also has stunning animation. But it is very strange for a fully grown adult woman to be jealous of a 14-year-old's looks. Because of these looks, she must die a horrible death. It just comes across as really strange to me.

This is a classic because of the animation and stunning details put into the artwork, aside from that it's not that interesting. Not even the songs could save this, as I'm not sure if the voice for Snow White was a bit tone deaf, or styles have changed. Still a wonderful first full animated feature.

5/10

"Doc: Uh, can you make dapple lumplings? Er, lumple dapplings?
Grumpy, Sleepy: Apple dumplings.
Doc: Yes, crapple dumpkins."

Bonus Content:

Me and my partner will be cooking food relating to Disney Films we watch together. For this we did Sausage and Potato soup, and Apple Pie featuring a lot of apples. Of course.
