I cried. I'm sure you will too.
This is one of the best recent Marvel films if I'm honest. It's fun and emotional, alternates between the two and blends them together fantastically. Throughout the movie, Rocket's character is at the core of the story, and his journey is one of the most interesting and impactful elements of the film. It's amazing how much emotion was put into him, being one of the most closed-off and least approachable of the group, it was nice (but so sad) to see his origins.
I loved the humour, it was right on point for the tone. Nothing felt forced or cheesy, like most newer Marvel films. I'm glad James Gunn has managed to keep the charm to Guardians throughout all three movies, it's never lost momentum and has always been such a fun time.
The soundtrack really brought home the emotions. It was perfect and captured the feel of the film wonderfully. I never once thought that one song didn't fit or felt really off compared to the tone. A brilliant mix of the 90s and 2000s that were very recognisable and very much loved.
I'm glad everyone got their own amount of screen time, nobody was left out and everyone was actually fleshed out really well. Nebula in particular I was glad was given more to her character, in fact, I loved her as much as Rocket in this one.
The action sequences are well done. They aren't mind-blowing, but much more effort is put into the story and characters than action so to me, it's not a bad thing.
The time flies by with this one, full of emotions which I'm sure you'll cry about, a perfect story for the Guardians.
10/10
"Humans only live to 50? What's the point of even being born!"
"Peter Quill: I'm-a tell you something: I'm Star-Lord! I formed the Guardians! Met a girl, fell in love... that girl died. But then she came back. Came back, a total dick!
*Spoiler*: Oh, please!
Nebula: You left out some important information. But that is the gist of it."
