Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 (2017)

Quick Summary: After a successful mission, Quill and his team of galactic defenders meet Ego, a man claiming to be Quill's father. However, they soon learn some disturbing truths about Ego.

I was curious to know how they could have topped the first one, but somehow they did and played all their cards right. 

Like the previous, this is full of 80's iconography and fun, hyper, witty humour. Somehow it manages to make everything better in this one and a lot smoother when it came time to transition to the plot.  

Visually it is equally as stunning as the first, all the colours pop. The action scenes are extremely flashy and know how to keep the balance between humour and seriousness. The opening scene really throws you into what this film will be like right off the bat, spectacular and grand with a little bit of silliness. 

Dave Bautista really shines during this movie, his trait of being very iteral and never getting jokes never runs old. He really put his all into this character and I honestly really enjoyed him more this time around. His comedic timing is perfect for this film, and he never misses a joke.

One thing I thought was better this time was the soundtrack. A lot more of the songs fitted perfectly with the scene, and really held the vibe of "The Guardians of Galxay" in all their fun goofy moments.

 

Another thing this film did really well was how it handed more of the emotional side of things. Nothing Feels too heavy and it's not ruined by some silly joke. The serious moments stay serious and they really know how to tug at your heartstrings.
